Agrotourism
The agroturism label
In order to clearly distinguish Estonia’s agritourism companies, the Central Union of Estonian Farmers created a label for the sector (along with classifications of services) in May 2018.
Farms whose operations meet the following conditions can apply for the label:
An agricultural undertaking whose primary area of operations is agriculture, raising the value of agricultural produce, apiculture or fishery and which offers a tourism service such as accommodation, active pursuits or excursions alongside its main operations may name itself an agritourism farm.
A farm on which a significant proportion of the work is done by the family or team running the farm may use the label.
At least one member of the family or team that runs the farm offering the agritourism service must live on the farm.
Farms using the agritourism label are subject to clear rules and regulations whose fulfilment is monitored by Eestimaa Talupidajate Keskliit.
Join
Who can join?
Agrotourism is open to members of the Estonian Farmers’ Confederation whose main activity is agriculture, beekeeping or fishing and who wish to offer tourism services in addition to their main activity.
Farmers who have joined the “Genuine Farm Food” brand are free to join agrotourism.
Other farms will be charged a symbolic membership fee.
